The town of Huelgoat, a magnificent site in the Arrée mountains, has various unusual sights.

THE CHAOS : An amazing pile of strange rocks..
THE DEVIL'S CAVE : Legendary satanic site.
THE VIRGIN'S HOUSEHOLD : Folk wisdom identifies this site as the Virgin's first house.
THE OPEN-AIR THEATRE : Open-air stage on which people can see cultural events.
ARTUS' CAVE : Site which was linked to King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.
THE POND OF THE WILD BOARS : Small ornamental lake surrounded by rocks.
ARTUS' CAMP : Gallo-Roman camp.

THE SHAKY ROCK

Though it weighs more than 100 tons, it slightly rocks just when you push with your back on the right spot.
These stones, also known as "rouler", were, according to druids, the symbol of God's power and the universal balance.

To the north of Huelgoat you can see the standing stone of Kerampaulven.

In the village of Brennilis, to the west of Huelgoat, there is the dolmen of "ti ar boudiged" or the fairies' house.

This grave is inserted into a pear-shaped burial mound (17 metres by 3.5) and it is surrounded by slabs that are driven vertically into the ground.
The back side is partly destroyed.
The internal monument is 13.4 metres long and has a southern aspect; the entrance is 1 metre wide and then it opens out (at the far end it is 2.8 metres in width).
In the middle of the chamber, the part which is covered by three stones, one can notice a pillar that may be the equivalent of the steles you can see in the chambers of the more ancient dolmens with corridors.

You can visit other megaliths in the area : Saint-Rivoal, Brasparts, Lennon, Landeleau, Cleden Poher; and along the road you can discover the forgotten standing stones.
