| The Celtic esoteric vision is represented by three circles : |
| The exterior circle corresponds to the world of the God OIV, only he
can live there. It is Keugant. |
|
| The next circle, Abred, represents the world of death. |
| It is our life on earth. |
|
| The Celt believed in reincarnation, man must go through several stages,
each of them being a learning experience. |
| Therefore death is a rebirth. |
|
| The third circle, Gwenwed, the white world, is the circle of felicity
where man will find the memory of his numerous transmigrations. |
| He will then be able to guide wandering men in Abred. |
|
| Therefore there are three necessary phases in every
existence (12th triad) |
| The beginning in Annouim (the abyss) |
| The transmigration and the evolution
in Abred |
| The fullness in Gwenwed |
|
| Life wakes up in the Mineral kingdom, from the stone
to the metal, develops in the Plant kingdom up to the Instinct. |
|
| It takes a conscience in the Animal kingdom, acquires
a soul in the world of Man who then becomes responsible for his actions
and endeavours to rise towards spirituality, breaking free from Matter and
primitive Instinct. |
|
| Thus the journey of man in Abred through his various
transmigrations must end up in these three raisons d'être : |
|
| The necessity to reap the fruit of each existence and
of |
| each stage of life |
| The necessity to learn in order to know
anything |
| The necessity to create one's own moral strength in
order to overcome any hatred |
| |
 |
| |
| God OIV could be represented like a ball of energy |
| Each soul being a small part of this energy. |
|
| During the total creation OIV split up in two divine "persons". DOUE,
who is light, perfection, a representation of Good. CYTHRAULT, who is emptiness,
nothingness, Evil. |
|
| In the Celtic religion there is the notion of trinity. |
| KARIDWEN, whose name means "divine gate", is Nature, God's Work. |
|
| HU KADARN, god of light, leads men to fight against CYTHRAULT. The
menhir is his emblem, and he is KARIDWEN's husband. |
| |
 |
| |
| The druidic religion is rather monotheistic. |
| Its characteristic is that it closely links cosmic science
with the notion of a Creative entity. |
|
| OIV, the Divine name that cannot be uttered, is the
Uncreated from which all the forces of creation stem. |
| However there is a kind of popular polytheism that is
close to the saints or the angels. |
|
| DANA : The Earth, everybody's mother, the nourishing earth by definition,
who generates everything that sprouts and grows. |
|
| LUG or LUCELLOS : God of light. |
|
| ESUS : Gallic Jove who handles thunderbolts. |
|
| OGMIOS : Symbol of eloquence. |
|
| EPONA : Protector of horses and horsemen. |
|
| DON : Goddess of the sea. |
|
| BELEN : Solar spirit whose visible physical body is called HEOL. |
